Cefetra B.V. is a leading and ambitious supply chain manager in agricultural materials to the feed, food and fuel industry. Our focus is selling Grains, Soya and Co-products to the European compound feed industry. On an annual basis, Cefetra B.V. trades around 11 million metric tons with a turnover of ca. € 2.4 billion. The job
We are looking for a Data Scientist to mine, analyze and extract signals from our structured and unstructured datasets to support and improve Cefetra’s decision making. You will be working closely with a small group of quantative analysts, data engineers, but also with traders, market research and risk management. In this role the Data Scientist is reporting to the Head of the Quantitative Trading & Research Desk.

Key Responsibilities

• Build outright and relative price forecasting models to identify trade opportunities, but also to signal risks within the current positioning
• Provide our traders with quantitative models, using e.g. price data and money flow analysis, to improve timing and positioning
• Leverage our data & models, by designing, testing, and developing (systematic) trading strategies
• Build (and improve our current) quantitative models to support fundamental market research (e.g. yield prediction, demand forecasting) and support our Data Engineers with building our data & analysis platform

Who you are
You are not afraid to dive into millions of datapoints and you like working with large structured and unstructured real-world datasets. You have excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail. You are looking for an international and fast paced environment and you are able to handle multiple tasks. You like both working independently as in a team setting as well. Job requirements

Position Requirements

• We are looking for high-performing recently graduated masters and undergraduate talent in quantitative fields such as Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Finance or Computer Science master
• If you bring a first working experience in quantitative research and or within an internship this is a plus
• Programming experience, preferably in Python
• Understanding of probability and statistics (e.g. machine-learning, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, NLP)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
